Subluxation Dictionary Entry

The sciatic nerve is a major nerve extending from the lower end of the spinal cord down the back of the thigh, and dividing above the knee joint. It is the nerve with the largest diameter in the human body. Since my adolescence I’ve suffered with acute sciatica, a periodic inflammation of the sciatic nerve roots. Sometimes it’s just uncomfortable, but at other times it gets so bad that I can barely walk.  Several times I’ve been in such pain from it that I couldn’t even drive myself to get care.

Many suffer from this common ailment seeking help from traditional medicine finding mild and temporary relief from the pain, while the underlying cause goes unaddressed.  Sciatica is caused by a misalignment of vertebrae in the lower spine, frequently caused by slight differences in the length of the legs or by a subluxation higher in the spine or by some other spinal damage. For me, chiropractics has provided the only lasting relief.

For me, the sound of a cracking neck or back triggers ‘sympathetic relief’ and sometimes I need a ‘crack fix’.  I turn to YouTube where a plethora of chiropractic videos, many of them being compilations of adjustments, others theory, and demonstrations.
